Welcome to our Fifth Grade Class in Room 35 at Anne E. Moncure Elementary School. Moncure Elementary is a public school in the Stafford County Public School System located in Stafford, Virginia (see map).

Information provided on these pages is intended primarily for my students and their parents or guardians in order to keep everyone informed about the latest homework, projects, and activities that are taking place in our classroom throughout the school year.

We warmly welcome all visitors to our site and are happy to share our projects, assignments, activities and ideas found on our site. We have developed many teacher resources and interactive classroom activities that have been successfully used in my class since the development of our first class page in 1997. We thank all those who have linked to our site and gladly share our resources with all colleagues who may find our material beneficial for use in their classrooms.

  • The Virginia Readers Choices for summer reading is available on our Summer Reading List.

  • My draft Welcome Letter for Parents for our 2009-2010 Open House is available. Since this is a draft, it may be updated as needed before open house.
 
  • Congratulations to Cocoa River for being our Student of the Week for her hard work, good behavior, and personal effort made in class.

  • Our class has selected their own nom de plumes for this year! We use these in lieu of real names in order to protect the students privacy when recognizing their achievements and contributions throughout the year on our website. Each child having a nom de plume will also have their own student web page where their contributions and personal achievements will be posted.

  • Bear Minutes - Our class goal this school year is to reach 1000 hours of independent reading. This effort is in conjunction with the Book-It Program which ends in March. Our Bear Minute program continues through the end of the school year. Need an extra (booklog.pdf)? This file requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader which you can download and install for free!.
